Silver Linings: New Career & Educational Opportunities in Legal Academia

Have you ever considered the possibility of becoming a law professor? If so, this webinar is for you. During this webinar, we will discuss career paths in the legal academy. How to effectively plan and prepare for full-time law teaching by acquiring and leveraging teaching experience, scholarship, and an experience as a practitioner-especially as a person of color. Is the turmoil and tumult of 2020 an opportunity for law school curricula to expand and better integrate DEI themes like social justice, civil rights, and equity in law, including new or alternative ways to identify and recruit full-time faculty? Join us for a discussion with some current and former law school deans who are thinking about all of this and more.

Panelists:

  • Mark Gordon, Professor of Law and former founding President and Dean, Mitchell Hamline School of Law
  • Jennifer Rosato, Dean, DePaul University College of Law
  • Reynaldo Anaya Valencia, Dean & Professor of Law, Capital University Law School
  • Melinda Molina (Moderator), Associate Dean for Academic Affairs & Associate Professor of Law, Capital University Law School
